What is PEN Full Form in Computer?

The PEN full form in computer is Private Enterprise Number. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority assigns unique identifiers to businesses for use in network management protocols such as SNMP and other related situations. Organizations utilize PENs to generate custom object identifiers, which are then used in other technologies such as SNMP to identify certain network components, hardware, or software aspects that are unique to that business.

Applications of PEN:

Organizations utilize PENs to build bespoke OIDs for monitoring and managing network devices. PENs help to uniquely identify proprietary technology, allowing its components to be identified and managed in worldwide systems. Organizations create custom MIBs  to control their own hardware, apps, or network services utilizing OIDs associated with their PENs.
Each institution that applies for a PEN is assigned a unique number, which allows them to construct OIDs without causing conflict with others.

Advantages of PEN:
